"Love is meant to be an adventure". Meet Cyndiana
What is your background?
I was born in Singapore and raised in Australia when I was a kid and we moved back to Singapore a couple of years after. My Mom’s Indonesian Chinese hence my unique name.
You spent some time in Beijing practicing cultural dance — how did you get into that and how much is it a part of your life now?
That was a long time ago. I learnt Chinese Cultural Dance when I was schooling in Singapore and I had the opportunity to then enrol in Beijing Dance Academy for further training. I spent a short stint there and decided not to further my studies in dance as I wasn’t feeling comfortable about leaving my Mom alone here in Singapore.
What music gets you dancing? Is there any music you’re loving right now?
I absolutely love dancehall, afrobeats and reggaeton. Currently obsessed with Burna Boy’s latest album – African Giant. I have that on repeat almost every other day.
Most memorable travel experience?
Most memorable travel experience was my Tibet solo trip 2 years ago. I managed to visit the Potala Palace, now a museum and UNESCO heritage site — it used to be the residence of the Dalai Lama until he fled to India during the Tibetan uprising, Namtso Lake, second largest salt water lake in Tibet and also checked out a few glaciers that were at least 5,000 metres above sea level and more… Tibet was super awesome!
Complete this sentence - “Love is….”
Love is meant to be an adventure.
It’s how we make the little things an adventure to truly show the depth of a relationship – the adventure to getting to know someone, their pet peeves, traveling together etc. And all these adventures make up memories that last (hopefully for a lifetime).
